As a partner in the implementation of the European Commission's InvestEU program, the BDB is creating conditions for the granting of over BGN 1.8 billion in new loans by commercial banks.

Today, the Council gave its final green light to a revised regulation simplifying the InvestEU programme, as part of the ‘Omnibus II’ package aiming to simplify legislation in the field of EU investment programmes.

InvestNL has become an InvestEU Advisory partner and receives funding from the InvestEU Advisory Hub for the new Transition Booster programme.

NIB has signed a EUR 27.7 million 10-year loan agreement with Baltic Storage Platform OÜ to finance the construction of two battery energy storage projects in Estonia. The loan is supported by the InvestEU programme under NIB’s Framework on Clean Energy Transition.

NIB has signed a 16-year loan with Ltd. WPR2 for the construction and operation of a 112 MW wind farm in Latvia. The EUR 28 million loan supports the country’s transition to clean energy and is eligible under the InvestEU Clean Energy Transition Framework.

The EBRD, supported by InvestEU, is providing a €32 million loan for the 112 MW Smiltene wind farm in Latvia. The project will increase Latvia’s wind power capacity by around 80%, strengthening energy security and advancing the green transition.

The EBRD, with EU-backed financing, is lending €12.2 million for the 21 MW Novalja solar plant in Croatia, which will support the country’s green transition.

The European Commission welcomes political agreement between the European Parliament and the Council on the ‘Omnibus' package to simplify EU investment programmes. The package strengthens InvestEU, the EU's flagship investment instrument, by increasing the EU guarantee by €2.9 billion.
